Other Information

His "guardian, Lowrie Daniel Kiskaddon" was listed as next of kin. His name is on the tablets of the missing at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial.

From researcher Kathy Franz:

I think his father was Bruce who married Hannah in 1910. They divorced, and he married Mellie in 1930. He was a bellboy at the Hayward Hotel in LA even through 1940. By his first wife, he had Mildred in 1910, and then William, and then Eugene in 1923. As sons go, they sometimes resent the step-mother, and that's probably why Lowrie (his uncle who was a truck driver) is his guardian. Lowrie was born in 1884 and Bruce was born in 1879 to James & Caroline Kiskaddon.

William graduated from Hollywood High School in 1939. Senior Hi-Y. He was known as “Wild Bill” on Bee Football and played center and wore #1. When the school held a Christmas program for children from Soto Street School, William helped hand out lunches to the children.
