USNRF

From USNA Virtual Memorial Hall

The reserve component of the United States Navy was created in 1915 as the "United States Naval Reserve Force." In 1925 it was reorganized and renamed the "United States Naval Reserve." (In 2005 it became the "United States Navy Reserve.")
