1st Lt. Pullen is one of five killed when their Sikorsky CH-53 crashed on a farm near Whaleysville during a routine training mission from New River, NC to McGuire AFB, NJ.

He was flying with:

  • 1st Lt. Edwin J. Ruff Jr.
  • LCpl. John V. Cataldi
  • Sgt. Ralph C. Schlectic
  • A1C Mark D. Lamascus

He was survived by his parents and is buried in Maine. USNA 1971 does not list him as an operational loss.
