Quentin Jones '37

Date of birth: July 6, 1915

Date of death: November 13, 1942

Age: 27

Lucky Bag

From the 1937 Lucky Bag:

Quentin was lost in USS Juneau (CL 52) during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal on November 13, 1942.

His wife was listed as next of kin.

Quentin was not commissioned upon graduation; possibly due to a physical limitation. He was commissioned an Ensign, USNR DEV(G) on March 26, 1938. (Information from Richard Leonard, naval aviation historian.)

In the 1941 edition of "Commissioned Officers, Cadets, Midshipmen, and Warrant Officers of the United States Naval Reserve" his rank is still given as Ensign.
