Dean died on March 26, 1966 as the result of an aircraft incident on March 18th. (His aircraft collided with an Air Force jet near Meridian, MS.)

"He was a student pilot on duty with Training Squadron Seven" and was survived by his mother, Mrs. Evelyn Eagstrom Sedar. (Information from May 1966 issue of SHIPMATE.) He is buried in Pensacola.
