Ebenezer died of typhoid fever on February 2, 1853 in Sonora, California. He was 30 years old and was not married, according to his death certificate.
Other Information
His parents were William Henry and Sophia. In 1844, Ebenezer’s father wrote to his uncle William Wilkins, Secretary of War, requesting a passport.
He was born in Pittsburgh and appointed to the Naval Academy from Pennsylvania. He is apparently buried in California, though it's unknown where.
