Edward was lost on September 18, 1952 when the T-6 aircraft he was aboard crashed near Hondo, Texas. The instructor pilot was also killed. (Information from November 1952 issue of Shipmate.)

Fidelity Prize 3; Yearbook staff Chairman 4; Trick Squad 4; Patrol 4; Office Aide 4; Individual Prize Winner in Competitive Drill 3; Spelling Bee 3; Class Vice President 3; 2d Lieut. 4.
Edward was a nephew of Senator William J. Keenan of Dorchester, Mass. Besides his parents, he was also survived by his two sisters, Mrs. John McGurdy and Catherine Jane Greer.
He is buried in Texas.
