Loss
Richard was lost on April 12, 1956 when his F9F Panther crashed near Naval Air Station Miramar, California. He was a member of Composite Squadron (VC) 61.
He was survived by his parents, Richard and Alice (Bond), his wife, Virginia, and 7-month-old twins.
Richard is buried in California.
His first duty station was USS Bennington (CVA 20). (Information from July 1953 issue of Shipmate.) He earned his wings at Corpus Christi in 1955.
