Lt. William T. Bartram, 29, of Scubic Bay, Philippines, died Thursday, Jan 19 as the result of a plane crash in the Philippines. Lt. Bartram was born May 30, 1959, son of Fred Dan and Monica Grady Bartram of Bothell, WA. He was a naval aviator attached to VRC 50 Subic Bay, Philippines. He graduated from the U. S. Navy Academy, Annapolis, MD. Surviving are his wife, Jodie Cooktus Bartram, Philippines, 2 daughters, Kelly Jo Bartram and Katie Bartram, both of Philippines; one brother, James D. Bartram; Bothell, WA. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Big Sandy News, Jan 25, 1989
He was flying for a detachment of VRC-50, which was operating from (or perhaps stationed aboard?) USS Midway (CV-41) at the time. Also lost in the crash was his commanding officer, Captain Robert W. Geeding. The crash was on January 20, 1989.
William is buried in the Naval Academy cemetery.
