Jack was lost on November 6, 1941 when the scout bomber he was piloting crashed at Border Field, San Diego.

He was survived by his wife and parents.

Career

He was listed as an officer aboard USS Paul Jones (DD 230) in the October 1, 1939 Navy Directory. In the June 1, 1940 Navy Directory he is listed as "under instruction" at NAS Pensacola.

He earned his wings as naval aviator #6948 on December 2, 1940.
